Hi, I’m Alison, founder of blooming good social.
blooming good social started off the back of a career identity crisis in 2022.
I was Social Media Manager at kikki.K and adored engaging with our stationery-loving and To-Do-List obsessed community about cute stickers on Insta. Before that, I’d spent a decade in the fast-paced advertising agency world. I missed geeking out on the data, immersing myself in multiple brands and businesses at once and watching advertising campaigns come to life. blooming good social started as a passion project, and quickly became my new (and favourite yet) career.
I work with businesses AND agencies.
Simply because I couldn’t choose between being a freelancer and starting my own agency, I decided to do both. * insert Old El Paso meme *
I love both, and tbh, dipping in and out of agencies allows me to continue to learn from other incredibly clever cookies and stay up to date with all the bloody changes that happen with Facebook/Insta/TikTok every god damn day. I also LOVE feeling part of a team when I team up with an agency (plz add me to your slack channel).
When I partner with a business, I don’t take on many, which means I basically become your very own Marketing Manager (for a fraction of the price, let’s be real). Social Media is my jam, but I’m more than that. I’ve worked on all sorts of brands and advertising channels so am always up for a business brainstorm over a hot cup of tea (Melbourne Breakfast is my fav.. IYKYK).
I’ve worked across hundreds of brands over the last decade of my career.
I’ve worked in some of Melbourne’s best agencies with some of the smartest folk. From slaving away on Bunnings Warehouse catalogues (yes I am serious), to strategising on digital advertising campaigns for Forty Winks, the TAC and Mission Chips to name a few, I’ve worked across most industries and across most forms of advertising.
But I bloody love social media. I always have.
Growing up in a small country town means I understand small biz, the importance of building a community, and connecting with people online.
I really love working with small businesses. I know it is possible to run a successful ecomm business from a small town with a population of 8000. But social media takes a bucket load of time and skills, so it helps a lot to have someone like me in your corner.
I’m a snack slave to a cute one year old, a lover of dogs, a taster of wine, and a maker of a damn good cheese platter. If I’m not at my desk, you’ll find me by the beach in Ocean Grove or by the gum trees in Deni.
I can’t wait to get to know you and your biz. Go on, introduce yourself.
