Hi, I’m Alison.
Founder of Blooming Good Social, mum to a busy toddler, lover of dogs and cheese platters, and someone who has somehow turned being chronically online into a career.
I live in Ocean Grove with my little family and spend my days helping businesses and agencies navigate the weird and wonderful world of social media marketing.
I'm a country girl at heart.
I grew up in Deniliquin before spending almost twenty years living and working in Melbourne. Growing up in a town where everyone knows everyone taught me a lot about community, relationships and supporting local businesses. Working in Melbourne taught me how big brands think, market and grow.
I think that's why I've always felt comfortable sitting somewhere in the middle.
I understand the realities of running a small business because I've watched people do it my whole life. But I've also spent more than a decade working in advertising and marketing, learning from some incredibly smart people and working across brands of all shapes and sizes.
I've worked on some pretty big brands.
Over the years I've worked in agencies, in-house marketing teams and alongside businesses ranging from startups through to household names. I've worked across brands including kikki.K, Bunnings, TAC, Forty Winks and Mission Foods, and I've spent more hours than I'd care to admit inside Meta Ads Manager.
While I learnt a lot working on larger brands, I've always been drawn to businesses that have been built from the ground up. The ones that started with an idea. The ones where the founder still cares deeply about every sale, enquiry and customer review. The ones where the business is a reflection of the people behind it.
The ones with a story.
Blooming Good Social started because I wanted to work differently.
I loved agency life. I loved the creativity, the strategy, the pace and the opportunity to work across lots of different brands. But I wanted to build something that felt a little more personal. I wanted to work with people I genuinely enjoy and on brands I believe in.
I wanted to feel invested in the outcome, not just the deliverables. I wanted less layers, less jargon and less marketing fluff.
So I started Blooming Good Social.
Turns out it’s a pretty nice way to work.
I work with businesses AND agencies.
Simply because I couldn't decide between being a freelancer and starting my own agency, I decided to do both. * Insert Old El Paso meme. * Honestly, I love both.
Working with agencies means I get to collaborate with smart people, work across lots of different brands and continue learning from some seriously clever humans. It also means I get to stay close to what's happening in the industry because Facebook, Instagram and TikTok seem to change their minds every five minutes.
When I partner directly with a business, I don't take on many. That means I can properly immerse myself in your brand, understand what makes it tick and become an extension of your team.
Basically, you get your very own Digital Marketing Manager, without having to find desk space for me.
A few things you should know about me.
I think Melbourne Breakfast tea is the superior of teas. I will stop to pat almost every dog. I love a good business brainstorm. I get way too invested in my clients' results. I still have besties from primary school. I think social media should feel human.
And I'll never say no to a wine and cheese platter.
If I'm not at my desk, you'll probably find me by the beach in Ocean Grove, at Pilates, chasing after my toddler, or having a wine with friends. Preferably all on the same day.

From day one, she seamlessly integrated into our team, fully understanding agency life and how to navigate our processes with ease. She’s incredibly organised, proactive, and autonomous, the kind of person you can trust to take ownership and deliver great work without needing hand-holding.
